Down on Grandpa's Farm Cake

I made my first stacked cake for my dad's birthday. Since he is a farmer what could be more appropriate than a cake that featured John Deere and a few of his crops.

I wanted to try cake that I was hoping would taste good and do well as a stacked cake. The cake I decided to use was the "The Ultimate Butter Cake" from Baking911.com. The cake it's self was tasty, but I thought it was bit dry and heavy. I had a hard time getting to sit even, the top seems to be tipping in a bit. I used chocolate and raspberry jam for the fillings.

I used a basic butter cream frosting and the decorations. I am still learning how to get that crumb coat on and then get the frosting to be smooth. Over I think it turned out well, even though I wasn't all the impressed with how the actual cake tasted.
